Our Requirements
Ideally, you will already have some practical experience working at a law firm—whether through legal clerkship placements, part-time student jobs, or previous professional experience. In addition to your professional qualifications, you will stand out for your structured approach to work, strong communication skills, and enthusiasm for providing solution-oriented client service. A good command of written and spoken German is required; knowledge of additional foreign languages is a plus.

In the end, what matters most during your legal clerkship is how well you can handle the vast amount of material covered on the bar exam. per | lex prepares you for this challenge better than highly specialized boutique firms or departments in large law firms. The practice areas at per | lex are closely aligned with the bar exam, ensuring that by the end of your rotation, you’ll have gained a wealth of experience in the areas of law relevant to the exam.
In civil law, our cases cover topics such as traffic accidents, sales law, insurance law, and labor law. In the criminal law practice of our firm, you can expect a cross-section of exam-relevant topics at every stage of the proceedings. In addition to actions to set aside administrative decisions and proceedings for interim relief—which are particularly relevant to the bar exam—our administrative law cases also cover perennial exam topics such as gun law, construction law, and environmental law.
